To Catch a Gourmet Mouse

Davide Luciano and Claudia Ficca are my new favorite photographer/food-stylist duo. While most of us are watching television or going out to restaurants with our significant others, this husband and wife team are taking their strange imaginations public. From animal feet becoming human to people turned into sheep, you can be sure to find future projects of theirs mentioned here on Food Politic.

In the series “Gourmet Mouse Traps,” Luciano and Ficca ask the same question Pixar posed in their 2007 film Ratatouille – what if mice were gourmands, too?

Posing miniatures of cheese-based dishes onto mouse traps, Luciano and Ficca make it look as though each trap had been set in a different house. (Presumably by families who all wanted their house mice to have a delicious last meal.) Luciano had just finished a week-long advertising shoot all about cheese when the idea came to him. “I was in a cheesy state on mind that week” said Luciano.
