What’s the Deal With Garlic Breath?

Have you ever wondered why garlic – that delicious addition to any Italian food – is not the food you want to eat before kissing? Just what is it that causes garlic to make your breath and anything else it touches smell garlicky for hours?

The American Chemical Society’s series “Reactions” joined up with Compound Interest to create this short explanation. If only there were a way to chop garlic without, well, chopping it. Food inventors get cooking!
